Crypto for Countries was written after leading the only national crypto system in the world, and working directly with multiple government agencies across 3 continents designing policy and technology for the next generation of digital currency.
Crypto for Countries covers 4 broad topics:
1. Definitions. What different cryptocurrencies are, such as the technical and functional differences between stablecoins, CBDC's, Bitcoin, Ethereum or ICO's, for example.
2. Playbook. Just because there is a digital asset does not mean it is used nationally. There are steps required on legal, operational, accounting, physical and technological fronts in order to ensure the system is cohesive and accretive to existing financial infrastructure.
3. Examples. Taking learnings from the first successful national integration of a cryptocurrency with legacy banking systems, as well as technological and business models from other leaders around the world.
4. Opportunities. Understanding how Governments in different regions are going about defining regulation or licensing, CBDC's (and the various forms these take), and classifications of different cryptocurrencies.
Tristan Thoma, author of Crypto for Countries, is currently the only person in the private sector who has seen firsthand what is involved in powering national cryptocurrency infrastructure. He led the resurgence of the Government-backed bitcoin wallet in El Salvador and has worked on-ground in multiple countries providing regulatory and technological recommendations for best practices.
Prior to working with national crypto systems, Tristan led Blockchain implementation and integration projects for a multitude of Fortune500 companies and government agencies.
